Defect: Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2002-2015 MB II, 2008-2026 G5, and 2015-2026 T-Series transit buses. An installation error may prevent the wheelchair tie-downs from locking, leaving the wheelchair improperly secured.

Why it matters: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit or a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

During manufacturing, the seat belt anchorage plate may not have been correctly attached to the wall, limiting the capacity of the shoulder belt to restrain a passenger in the event of a crash.

Why it matters: If the belt anchorage plate detaches from the wall, and cannot properly restrain a passenger it can increase the risk of injury.

Micro Bird Corporation will provide inspection and field modification instructions and the material kit required to complete this recall repair, free of charge. The affected buses have T-Slider window frames that may allow water to accumulate inside the frame. In freezing conditions, the accumulated water can freeze, expand and put extra pressure on the window glass causing it to shatter.

Why it matters: Shattered window glass may increase the risk of injury to the bus occupants.

Why it matters: An insufficiently torqued bolt may become loose and fall out causing vehicle misalignment. Loss of vehicle control is possible, increasing the risk of a crash.
