2026 Lucid Air recalls

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles. The exterior lighting circuit may have insufficient overcurrent protection, allowing the circuit to overheat.

Why it matters: An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 16, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-06-0.

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Air vehicles equipped with Pure Rear-Wheel Drive. Improperly secured bolts may allow the half-shaft to disconnect from the drive unit.

Why it matters: A disconnected half shaft can result in a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Lucid will remove and install new bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-03-0. This recall is an expansion of previous NHTSA recall number 25V669.

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles equipped with an AD02 package and operating a software version from 2.8.0 through 2.8.16. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility.".

Why it matters: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
