2024 Lucid Air recalls

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles. The exterior lighting circuit may have insufficient overcurrent protection, allowing the circuit to overheat.

Why it matters: An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Air vehicles equipped with rear-wheel drive. The Gen 4 inverter may experience internal friction and become damaged, causing a loss of drive power.

Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Lucid will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update to continually inspect for an inverter failure. If a failure is detected Lucid will replace the inverter, free of charge. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility.".

Why it matters: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Why it matters: A high voltage coolant heater that fails to defrost the windshield can reduce the driver's view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Lucid has released an over-the-air software update to identify a high voltage coolant heater failure and provide a warning to the driver. High voltage coolant heaters that fail will be replaced.
