2023 Lucid Air recalls

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles. The exterior lighting circuit may have insufficient overcurrent protection, allowing the circuit to overheat.

Why it matters: An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles equipped with an AD02 package and operating a software version from 2.8.0 through 2.8.16. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility.".

Why it matters: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Air vehicles. The electrically activated contact switches that transfer energy to the drive motors, may unexpectedly open, cutting off power to the electric motors.

Why it matters: Power loss will shut down electric motors, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.
