2025 Mack Granite (Gr) recalls

Defect: Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2025 Mack AN, GR, and TE trucks. The drag link may contain an improperly heat-treated ball stud that can fail, resulting in a sudden loss of steering control.

Why it matters: A sudden loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and replace the drag links, as necessary, free of charge. The seat belt anchorage bracket may be improperly welded. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages.".

Why it matters: An improperly welded seat belt anchorage bracket can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Why it matters: An electrical short can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. An electrical short can also cause the cables to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Defect: Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Anthem, Granite, TerraPro and Pinnacle vehicles, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.

Why it matters: Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System) may have diminished or lost functionality, increasing the risk of a crash.

The tires may not have been DOT tested and confirmed to be sufficient for the vehicles. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires - Other Than Passenger Cars.".

Why it matters: Insufficient tires can fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2025 LR, Granite, and Pinnacle vehicles equipped with Composilite EXS20 steerable lift axle suspension assemblies. The tie rod assembly ball stud could have been improperly heat treated and can fail.

Why it matters: The ball stud can separate from the vehicle becoming a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
