2023 Autocar Xspotter recalls

Defect: Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2012-2025 ACTT (Xspotter) vehicles. The tire inflation information label is incorrect. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims.".

Why it matters: Incorrect tire inflation information can result in under inflated tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2015-2022 ACTT (Xspotter) and ACX (Xpeditor) vehicles. The air tanks have an insufficient volume of air for the brake system. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems.".

Why it matters: Insufficient air volume can reduce brake function, extending the distance required to stop and increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace or add additional air tanks as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed August 29, 2025. Defect: Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023-2024 ACTT (Xspotter) vehicles. The alternator ground cable may be misrouted and contact the alternator positive stud, damaging the cable.

Why it matters: A damaged cable can short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

Defect: Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023-2025 ACTT (Xspotter) vehicles. A software error may allow the vehicle to exceed the speed governor limit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 136, "Electronic Stability Control Systems on Heavy Vehicles.".

Why it matters: Driving at speeds greater than 33 mph can result in a loss of handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2023 ACX (Xpeditor) and ACTT (Xspotter) vehicles. The steering gear assemblies may have been assembled incorrectly with fewer recirculating balls than are required, which may result in a loss of steering control.

Why it matters: A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
