2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 recalls

Defect: Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles. The mounting fasteners may loosen or detach, causing the steering gearbox to bind.

Why it matters: Binding in the gearbox can cause a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Shyft will replace the steering gearbox mounting bolts and washers, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 23, 2026. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 26-01.

Defect: Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Blue ARC BA4L-800 vehicles. The spacer for the brake caliper may be too big, resulting in an increased air gap.

Why it matters: A brake caliper with an increased air gap may prevent the parking brake from properly engaging, allowing the vehicle to rollaway and increasing the risk of a crash.

Shyft will replace the brake calipers, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 2025. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806. Shyft's number for this recall is 25-17.

Defect: Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles equipped with Aries LFP battery packs. The battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery.

Why it matters: Liquid intrusion into a battery pack can cause a loss of electrical isolation or short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire or shock hazard.

Shyft will work with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair, or replace the battery packs as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 17, 2025. Owners may contact Shyft customer service at 1-800-237-7806. Shyft Group's number for this recall is 25-08.

Defect: Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles. The headlight horizontal adjustment stud is missing a cover, allowing for horizontal adjustment of the headlight beam. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.".

Why it matters: Adjusting the horizontal headlight beam can create a glare, or reduce visibility for the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.
