2024 Ic Bus Evsb recalls

Defect: International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2022-2027 IC Bus EVSB school buses. The high voltage disconnect switch may fail to shut off power to the battery.

Why it matters: Switch failure may lead to unintentionally working on an energized high voltage battery, increasing the risk of injury or death by electrical shock.

Dealers will repair the high voltage disconnect connector bypass circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 4, 2026. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning June 1, 2026.

Defect: Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024-2025 IC Bus EVSB and 2024-2025 CESB school buses. The brake caliper mounting bolts may not have been properly tightened, allowing the brake caliper to detach from the anchor plate.

Why it matters: A detached brake caliper can cause a loss of braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024 IC EV school buses. The high voltage positive cables that connect the battery packs to the manual service disconnects (MSD) may have been mislabeled.

Why it matters: A mislabeled electrical cable may be mistaken for a de-energized cable by a technician or first responder, increasing the risk of electrical shock and injury.

Defect: Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2021-2024 IC Bus RE, 2022-2024 IC Bus CE, and IC Bus EV school buses. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator light does not remain illuminated when a malfunction exists, and when the vehicle's ignition switch is on, and the vehicle is in motion. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems.".

Why it matters: An ABS indicator light that fails to remain illuminated will not alert the driver of an ABS malfunction, which could increase the risk of a crash.
