2023 Genesis GV60 recalls

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Genesis GV60 electric vehicles. The stainless-steel molding at the top of the windshield assembly may detach.

Why it matters: Detached molding can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the windshield molding, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning October 30, 2025. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 20, 2025.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain Genesis 2023-2025 G90 and GV60 vehicles. Due to a software error, the instrument panel display may fail. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays.".

Why it matters: An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

The instrument panel display software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 22, 2025. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Hyundai's number for this recall is 027G.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022-2024 IONIQ 5, 2023-2025 IONIQ 6, Genesis GV60, Genesis GV70 "Electrified," and Genesis G80 "Electrified" vehicles. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) may become damaged and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which can result in a loss of drive power.

Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the ICCU and its fuse, as necessary. In addition, dealers will update the ICCU software. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 20, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 or Genesis customer service at 1-844-340-9741. Hyundai's numbers for this recall are 272 (Hyundai) and 025G (Genesis). This recall expands and replaces previous recall number 24V-204. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 24V-204 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and Genesis GV60 vehicles. The rear inner driveshaft may have been improperly heat-treated, allowing it to break under load and resulting in a loss of drive power.

Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 Genesis GV60 vehicles. The automatic locking retractor for the front passenger-side seat belt may prohibit the seat belt from fastening and/or extending properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies.".

Why it matters: A seat belt that fails to fasten or extend properly may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Dealers will inspect and replace the front passenger-side seat belt, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 14, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 015G.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023 Genesis GV60 vehicles equipped with an all-wheel drive powertrain system.  The rear driveshafts may fracture, which can result in a loss of drive power.

Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the left and right rear driveshafts, free of charge.  Owner notification letters were mailed June 23, 2023.  Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460.  Hyundai's number for this recall is 014G.

Defect: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Genesis GV80, 2021-2023 Genesis G80, 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, and 2023 Genesis GV60 vehicles. In the event of a crash, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioners may explode upon deployment.

Why it matters: An exploding seat belt pretensioner can project metal fragments into the vehicle, strike vehicle occupants, and result in injury.

Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. For GV60 owners, Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 14, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 21V-796 will need to have the new remedy completed.
