2022 Can-Am Ryker recalls

Defect: Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2022 Can-Am Ryker motorcycles. The handlebar stem bolt may break unexpectedly due to insufficient thread length.

Why it matters: A broken handlebar stem bolt can cause a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners are advised to not ride their motorcycle until the remedy is complete. Dealers will clean the threads of the steering column and install a new steering stem bolt, free of charge. Defect: Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (Bombardier) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Can-Am Ryker motorcycles. The impeller may swell, causing the high-pressure fuel pump to fail.

Why it matters: A fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 27, 2024. Owners may contact Bombardier customer service at 1-888-272-9222. Bombardier's number for this recall is Bulletin 2023-10.

Defect: Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Spyder RT and 2022-2023 Ryker motorcycles. The brake lights may stay illuminated even if the brake pedal is not pressed. As such, these motorcycles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and associated Equipment.".

Why it matters: Brake lights that remain illuminated can fail to alert other motorists of the rider's intention and increase the risk of a crash.

Depending on the model, dealers will replace the brake light switch, adjust the brake light switch, and/or add a spring to the brake light switch, as necessary, free of charge. Defect: Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is recalling certain 2019-2023 Ryker motorcycles. The position light and flasher electrical harnesses in the front fenders may loosen and rub on the tire, leading to a short circuit and resulting in an engine stall while driving.

Why it matters: An engine stall while driving increases the risk of a crash.
