2021 Xos SA01 recalls

Defect: Xos, Inc (Xos) is recalling certain 2021-2022 SV05 and 2021 SA01 vehicles. The bolts and brackets connecting the hardware to the electronic parking brake system may come loose, causing the parking brake to fail.

Why it matters: Electronic parking brake failure can result in a rollaway if the vehicle is not in park with the manual park brake engaged, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the affected hardware and update the vehicle software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 8, 2024. Owners may contact Xos customer service at 1-818-316-1890. Xos's number for this recall is REC 003-23.

Defect: Xos, Inc. (Xos) is recalling certain 2021 RM01, SA01, and 2021-2022 SV05 vehicles. The bolts connecting the electronic parking brake rotor to the driveshaft may have been improperly tightened.

Why it matters: Loose bolts may allow the driveshaft to separate, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect: Xos, Inc. (Xos) is recalling certain 2021 RM01, SA01 and 2021-2022 SV05 vehicles. The brake lines may be the incorrect length and incorrectly routed, which can result in a brake fluid leak.

Why it matters: A brake fluid leak can lead to an increase in stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.
