2021 Isuzu Ftr recalls

Defect: Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Isuzu FVR, 2023-2026 Chevrolet 7500XD, 2018-2026 Chevrolet 6500XD, and Isuzu FTR vehicles. The axle stabilizer bracket bolts may crack and break, allowing the bracket to detach from the vehicle.

Why it matters: A detached axle stabilizer bracket can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the stabilizer bar brackets, free of charge. This is a Phased campaign. Phase 1 will include Class 6 vehicles (FTR, Chevy 6500XD). Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025 to FTR and Chevrolet 6500XD owners. Phase 2 will include Class 7 vehicles (FVR, Chevy 7500XD). Owner notification letters were mailed April 24, 2026 to FVR owners. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026 to Chevrolet 7500XD owners. Defect: Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2019-2024 FTR, 2020-2024 Chevrolet LCF 6500XD, 2022-2024 FVR, and 2023-2024 Chevrolet LCF 7500XD vehicles equipped with a Mobileye Collision Warning System. The Mobileye camera cable may have been routed improperly, which can result in wiring damage and an overloaded electrical circuit.

Why it matters: Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire. In addition, wiring damage may cause a loss of turn signal, hazard lights, and/or collision system function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect and reroute the Mobileye camera cable or replace the Mobileye camera cable and T-harness, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 08, 2024. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. Isuzu's number for this recall is V2401.

Defect: Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2018-2021 Isuzu FTR and 2018-2021 Chevrolet 6500XD vehicles. A bolt on the left front steering knuckle may come loose, resulting in an increased turning radius and difficulty steering to the left.

Why it matters: An unexpected change in turning radius and difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace both right and left side stopper bolt jam nuts and clean or replace the extensions, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 28, 2022. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. This recall is an expansion of recall 19V-467. Vehicles previously repaired will need to have the new remedy performed.

Defect: Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain 2018-2021 FTR and Chevrolet 6500XD vehicles. The ground cable connecting the starter motor to the vehicle frame may break at the starter-side eyelet, resulting in an engine no-crank or slow-crank condition, causing the vehicle not to start.

Why it matters: If the cable is broken and repeated attempts are made to start the vehicle, the starter may ground through the steel braiding of the power steering hose, allowing it to heat up and possibly rupture, increasing the risk of a fire.

Isuzu and Chevrolet will notify their respective owners and dealers to replace the ground cable and to inspect and replace the power steering hose is damage exists, free of charge. The recall began October 9, 2020. Isuzu owners may contact the Isuzu Customer Relations at 1-866-441-9638 and Chevrolet owners may contact the GM Medium Duty Truck assistance line at 1-800-862-4389.
